ABOUT ILERA

The International Labour and Employment Relations Association (ILERA) was established in 1966 and its general purpose is to promote the study of labour and employment relations throughout the world in the relevant academic disciplines, by such means as:

  • encouraging the establishment and development of national associations of labour and employment relations specialists;

  • facilitating the spread of information about significant developments in research and education in the field of labour and employment relations;

  • organizing worldwide and regional congresses; and

  • promoting internationally planned research, by organizing study groups on particular topics.

An ILERA European Regional Congress is convened every three years, where professionals interested in all aspects of labour and employment relations meet to share ideas about new developments, ideas and practices in the field.

The organiser of this edition’s congress is the Institute for Labour Studies (IET). The IET is an interdisciplinary research unit at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, formed by researchers coming mostly from Political Science, Sociology and Law. IET has as its objective the coordination, implementation and stimulation of interdisciplinary research on issues related to industrial relations and employment from different approaches.
